Well, say you're editing a part with a lot of zoom on a region, you really don't want the transport to be followed and find the editing point again after each playback while still editing.. I personally often disable/enable this feature according to what I'm doing. |

And I can't think of a situation where I'd want it enabled :) isn't the option saved so you only need to check it once? |

vervelover/ rytmenpinne: Of course there are reasons and occasions to have this set either way but the question here is (as with all defaults) how will most people have this set the majority of the time. I'm less concerned if this setting gets saved or not, I'm just after an optimal OOTB config and for me this is one notable thing I'd change from its current default which is off because I have it turned on 99.9% of the time. |

this setting is "on" by default. it is stored in both your global settings, and per-session settings. this means that if you turned it off in one session then create a new session it will be off in that new session. however, turning it on and off in existing sessions has no effect on other existing sessions. |
