this in fact inverts the behaviour of A2, and is a quite annoying issue..

I don't understand. Are you saying that the way it is in A2 is annoying or if this is changed in A3 it will be annoying ?

I'm saying I think that A2 has the correct behaviour (well, sorry A2 has not a "behaviour" towards this, it just makes it quicker to add plugins pre-fader than A3 alphas), and in my opinion it doesn't make much sense to have plugins placed post-fader by default..

In current SVN plugins are inserted at a point around where the mouse is clicked to open the menu, and a visual cue is given as to where the plugin will end up. Comments welcome.
