| Description | Assumption: While the tempo setting should affect the playback speed of Midi notes, the meter setting is mere a tool for arrangement and setting the click and shouldn't affect Midi playback at all. This is also the behaviour I know from other sequencers. In current SVN (rev. 9359) the meter denominator changes the playback speed of Midi notes. For example when switching from n/4 to n/8 the Midi will be played in double speed or quadruple speed when switching to n/16 meter. This also affects the step entry mode: For example set the note length to 1/4 and the resulting notes will be 1/8 notes when meter is set to n/8. | ||||

I believe that fixing this misbehaviour will most likely break any existing MIDI sequence where a different denominator than a quarter is used. Hence I suggested not to delay fixing this problem too much. |

I believe this is pretty much fixed in current SVN, isn't it? |

AFAIK there are at least 2 more outstanding issues regarding Meter and Tempo, but I think those should be handled as separate from this one. The specific problem here indeed is solved in SVN - the breakage is done. ;) |
