Summary0003977: Midi editing select multilple notes with shift-tab does not work
DescriptionThe documentation says that using shift-tab should add the next note to the selection. So far as I can tell, this does not work at all. The original note remains selected, but no new notes are added.

This functionality is bound to primary-modifier-tab, which by default here is Ctrl-Tab. Does that work for you?

To be more explicit about what I am doing. I select a midi track and click 'e' to enter note level editing. By the way the "releases" page http://www.ardour.org/a3_features_midi_editing mentions using 'm' to enter note level editing, but as far as I can see 'm' does nothing.

Now in note-level editing I can click on a note and it turns red. As far as I understand I should be able to do "ctrl-shift tab" to add the next note to the selection, but this does not work. I can do "ctrl-click" to add notes to the selection and "shift-click" to add a range of notes. Midi-editing seems very fragile at the moment. If you try to do too many things (like a combination of ctrl-click and shift-click) sometimes notes disappear. I would suggests a developer to try all sorts of combinations and see what breaks.

the vanishing notes are almost certainly a function of the "how to handle MIDI note overlap" preference. This was changed to "don't do anything about them" as the default several weeks ago, and I expect the vanishing aspect to have gone away.
