| Summary | 0003862: korg nanokontrol go to start or end of session | ||||
| Description | I assigned the faders and buttons to the mixer faders and solo/mute buttons with the ctrl+middle click no problem works like a charm the problem: when I assign the 'go to start of session' on the transport section to the return button on the nanokontrol it didn't work ditto on the 'go to end of session' assign and usage The problem was reported in the mailing list some time ago. But I can't find a Bug report. So here it is ;-) The problem persists in the SVN version. | ||||

can i suggest you try the MIDI binding map for Korg NanoKontrol? its available in alpha2. |
Sorry, I did not knew about that. I'm using the latest svn version and there is a file Korg_nanoKONTROL.map but the device is not shown in the preferences (control surfaces) dialog window (only open sound control, mackie and generic midi is visible). I tryed to copy the map to ~./config/ardour/midi_maps but it don't works. |
I believe this has been fixed in later alpha releases, so that the MIDI binding map does show up and can be used. Can you confirm (or deny) ? |
I can confirm that the Korg_nanoKONTROL.map works. But, the original problem is still there: ctrl+middle click does not work for the 'go to start of session' and 'go to end of session' transport buttons. It work for other transport buttons. |

this won't be fixed. the use of MIDI control messages is to "controllables" only (gain, plugin parameters, speed control, etc. etc). there is no "controllable" for a given GUI action, and so no way to bind a MIDI CC to things like "go to start of session". Ctrl-middle-click does NOT bind a *message* to an action - it creates a binding between the value of a given MIDI controller and some continuously variable parameter in ardour. with a midi binding map, you can create bindings between specific messages and GUI actions and some additional functions too. |
