| Summary | 0003847: External MIDI in stops working after session reload | ||||
| Description | Note that I use the A3 Audio/setup wizard to start JACK normally and, as in this report, I use that to set the JACK MIDI driver to seq to get it to recognise my USB MIDI controller. Create a new session, add a MIDI tack then add a LV2 or VSTi plugin to it. When you hit the keys on your keyboard you should get sound out of the plugin as it should've been auto-connected to your MIDI keyboard. Now save the session, quit A3 and reload it. Hit some keys on your MIDI controller - nothing. The MIDI connection manager shows my keyboard is still connected to the MIDI input of the track and you can try disconnecting/reconnecting it but the connection is permanently severed after reload. Note that at this point you can still get sound out of the plugin by using the on-screen keyboard or by drawing notes with the mouse and playing them back, you just can't get any MIDI input from the external controller to any tracks. 9124 | ||||

petern just pointed out to me on irc that he has seen this too and he correctly stated that you can still record from the MIDI controller, its just plugin monitoring when not recording that stops working after session reload. |
