Works for me. We may need an example session here.

Session file attached. Look at the first track, named kick. There is a crossfade there. The context menu has 'selected regions' at the top as opposed to either a region name or 'crossfade', when I right click on the crossfade. Bit odd as no regions are actually selected. All the menu items under 'selected regions' are greyed out, as, no regions are selected !

I see this iff edit point == playhead.

Yes, and if I place the playhead such that it intersects the crossfade, then I get the crossfade menu option. Also, if I select marker as the edit point, then one of three things happens. 1) if no marker is selected then the crossfade menu option appears. 2) If a marker is active but doesn't go through the crossfade, the menu option is not available. 3) If a marker is active but does go through the crossfade, then the menu option is available. I guess that with the edit point set to mouse it will always work.

So, why is edit point relevant to crossfade editing. I would say it isn't.

I think the edit point may be relevant to crossfade editing just the same as it is relevant to any other sort of editing. I think you are quite close to saying "why isn't the edit point always the mouse?"

Having said that, since these options are (I think) only available on the context menu, I've changed the behaviour in SVN so this should be fixed.

Fixed, thanks.

I don't think I was close to saying "why isn't the edit point always the mouse", that wouldn't be right at all. And as you said crossfade editing options are only available through context menus.

Cool. I just worry about what happens when someone asks for a hotkey for xfade edit :)

Crossfades do need extra work anyway, as listed on the post 3.0 todo list. But this issue is fixed now, so all good.
