| Description | Hi! I am a DJ and I use a lot Soundforge's Acid to mix complete tracks(Songs) with others to create fully mixed and beat matched CD's. i.e Club mixes etc. At last!! I was looking for quite some time for a program like yours to complete my migration from windows to Linux. I am currently using Mandrake 10.0 Can your program import full songs into a channel and can you add CD tracks Markers just like Acid does?? Do you know of any RPM for Mandrake 10, I saw Fedora but nothing on Mandrake. If not, it would be a suggestion! Hoping to hear from you soon, Richard | ||||

if you are using features of Acid beyond simple audio mixing, ardour cannot do what you want at this time. we do not have beat-detection, and our looping features are fairly poor compared with Acid. it is possible to add CD track markers, but because CD creation is done by an external program (its the linux way), things may not work in quite the way you expect. i would suggest that you join us on IRC (#ardour at irc.freenode.net) and we can chat about various issues surrounding this. either that or join the ardour-dev or ardour-users mailing lists for slower discussion. we (ardour developers) do not distribute or create packages at this time. i am afraid i don't know the mandrake situation. Ardour won't be anything like Acid anytime soon. It's not where this program is going. |
