Summary0003597: Untranslatable stuff + weirdness
Description* "Options" in the nsd/wizard (above "I Want more options for this session")
* The text in the monitoring portion of the nsd/wizard
* Slide/Splice/Lock in the editor!

+ one of the buttons -- the Previous button - in nsd/wizard is being translated into "Sista" without any involvement of me... :/

Here are more untranslatable things:

* The "Fader" in a mixer strip
* The latency control button in a plugin. The one that says "latency (0 samples)". Can't find any strings for this
* "Hardware" in the master bus input connection editor

(+ "Bundle" in said master bus input connection editor)

The "L" and "R" in the panner are not displaying in the mixer strips

I'm no expert on gettext, so let me know if I am confused!

- "Options" in the NSD seems to be in the .po files as "Options"
- similarly, text in the monitoring part does seem to be in the .po files, although it has some markup in it
- Slide/Splice/Lock is there
- I'm not sure what you mean by the "Previous" button in the NSD, but I'd guess it's a stock GTK button so will be translated using GTK's translations
- bundle manager stuff like "Disassociate" also appears to be in the .po files.
- I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by the "Fader" in a mixer strip
- latency button is fixed in SVN
- "Hardware" seems to be there
- "Bundle" in the master bus input connection editor: can't see that here
- L/R in the panner should be fixed in SVN

- "Options" is contained and translated in my .po, but it's not being applied in NSD, only in the main program
- What I described as Bundle manager problems was in fact general port matrix translation issues, specifically the context menus:
There's an msgid "Add %s %s" that I'm guessing is what translates into stuff like "Add audio port" or "Add MIDI channel". The problem is that only the first part (Add -> Lägg till) is being translated, not the "audio channel" or "MIDI channel" after. And I can't find where to translate this. There's no instance of a "MIDI channel" for example, or "%s channel" or "%s port" or anything...
Also, "Bundle" in the port matrix context menu is not translated
- Slide/Splice/Lock is in the .pot -- both in fact -- yep, and it's translated in my .po's but it's just not working
- By "Fader" I mean the preconfigured redirect that says "Fader" on every track's mixer strip. I can't translate this
- "Hardware" was a My Bad
- L/R fix is great. But now I've discovered that 3+ channel tracks still show "L" and "R"...
- latency button fix is great. But the window that opens from it still has untranslated title "Edit Latency" as well as the msec/sample/period drag control in that window
- Finally there's a grammatical issue with the port matrix, where the leftside vertical tabs have things like "Ardour Busses", "Ardour Tracks" which is, yes, being translated, but it's not possible to do it correctly in swedish. The correct way is a hyphen between, as so: "Ardour-bussar", "Ardour-spår" and so on...
Phew. Think I'm done. Thanks for the fixes!

I think most of this should now be fixed by making msgfmt use "fuzzy" translations rather than ignoring them.

The words in "Add %s %s" are separate, so you need to translate "audio" and "channel" separately.

"Fader" is in the .po in the libs/ardour directory (not gtk2_ardour). Are you looking in there?

Where are you seeing L/R on a 3 channel track?

The latency stuff should now be fixed.

The port matrix grammar should be fixed now; the strings to translate are "%1 Busses" etc.

Awesome!

> "Fader" is in the .po in the libs/ardour directory (not gtk2_ardour). Are you looking in there?
I've translated it in both my libs/ardour/po/sv_SE.po and gtk2_ardour/po/sv_SE.po. The instance of it that is not translating is specifically the mixer strip redirect box one.
> Where are you seeing L/R on a 3 channel track?
Let me show both in a screenshot: http://nebulus.se/~odd/transl.png

> The latency stuff should now be fixed.
Yup!

> The port matrix grammar should be fixed now; the strings to translate are "%1 Busses" etc.
Seems fixed!

> I think most of this should now be fixed by making msgfmt use "fuzzy" translations rather than ignoring them.
Success!

The only thing I seem to be having problems with right now is the edit modes dropdown button. You can see in the sshot where it still says "Slide"...
Anyhow thanks for helping me out! And sorry for the slow reply -- baby + work = little Ardour time :)

Been trying to get this comitted through IRC, through the mailing list and mailing it directly to Paul but no response thus far. Admittedly I've failed to get a few elements translated as noted in the bug above, but they're there (the lines at least) in the .po file.
