| Summary | 0003580: Ardour crashes both trying to load saved and new sessions. | ||||
| Description | Ardour is crashing every time I try to load a saved session or create a new one. Here is the complete output from launch till crash: gene@lemon:~$ ardour2 Ardour 2.8.11 (built using 7387 and GCC version 4.5.1) Copyright (C) 1999-2008 Paul Davis Some portions Copyright (C) Steve Harris, Ari Johnson, Brett Viren, Joel Baker Ardour comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. | Additional Information | The above terminal output occurred when attempting to create a new session, but saved session output is identical. I don't think it's a zoom issue; zoom on all saved session is 256 or less. I have plenty of locked memory: gene@lemon:~$ ulimit -l unlimited | ||||

this was identified as being caused by errors in the packaging and integration of libxml2 and zlib on the latest Slackware 64 bit distro update. it is not an ardour bug, but could potentially afflict other 64 bit distros as they update to the latest zlib. |
