Summary0003506: Full zoom-in required to make automation points align in time
DescriptionI've been working on an ambisonic project using Ardour and the AMB LADSPA plugins. In order to do full circle panning using automation it's necessary to create two automation points that overlap at the same place in time (e.g. one point at -180 and the other at +180). To accomplish this I create first one automation node, then a second one to the right of it and drag it to the left until it overlaps the first one and I can't move it any further pass the first one (check attached images), all this done at a normal zoom level. Upon playback, it becomes audible that there is a ramp between the two nodes instead of an instant change from one value to the other, fact that is confirmed when zooming in and discovering that there is indeed a ramp between the two. It is necessary to gradually zoom in more and more and drag the second node closer and closer until at full zoom in they finally are at the same point in time. This is a big hassle when dealing with tons of this cases (just as a note, in other DAWs, like Reaper, this works fine without needing to zoom in).
