Summary0003236: more logical colo(u)r scheme for display of MIDI note velocity
DescriptionUnder 7253, a MIDI note with a velocity of 0 is green, 64 is yellow and 127 is red which is just plain confusing. I would suggest using a gradient based upon a range extending between two colours/tones ie 0 would be white, 64 would be light blue and 127 would be blue.

just FYI, the existing color scheme matches the way the meters used to be before they were switch to a general blue-ish tone.

Hi Paul

OK, so now I realise where the three colours derive from but IMO it doesn't make any sense to transfer the meter colours to represent MIDI velocity- esp. when the colour ratios don't match either- meters being largely green with only a small bit of yellow and red.

If it goes off the shade of one colour like blue as I suggested it would easier to mentally process the velocity of a note rather than trying to decode where that colour lies between green and yellow, yellow and red (which would take some practice) and using a gradient of one colour would also work for colour blind people too.

The colour of the notes wouldn't matter so much if you could see the velocity easily with a mouse-over as per my previous feature request but a logical colour scheme would spare that action.

Fixed in 7300 with customisable colo(u)rs too! Woo!

Thanks Paul!
