Summary0003228: a3 cannot record MIDI controller data ie pitch bend
DescriptionCreate a MIDI track and attach a MIDI device with a controller attached such as a MIDI keyboard with a pitch bend wheel. Record a few random long notes and move the pitch bend wheel on the later notes but not on the first then stop recording. When you play back you'll notice that, at least under 7237, the first notes with no MIDI controller data will play back fine but things go wrong on the first note that you moved the pitch bend wheel on- here I get a stuck note and the notes afterwards don't get played back at all.

Now stop recording and click on 'Show Existing Automation' for that track to try and view the pitch bend automation- A3 crashes.

I've finally retrieved my MIDI keyboard so I finally get to test the last fundamental aspects of MIDI in A3a

Easiest way for me to reproduce this:

1. new session, new midi track, record a single note down-up from an external keyboard, plays back fine.

2. new session, new midi track, on the external keyboard push the note down, adjust pitch wheel, stop adjusting pitch wheel, lift note up. Resulting recording plays but the note off doesn't get sent when it should.

This bug may be fixed in SVN 7241. Perhaps you could test?

Hi cth103!

Yes, it can record and play back my pitch bend wheel under 7244 but A3 crashes as soon as I try to see the automation data just recorded by pressing 'Show Existing Automation'. Maybe you want me to file that as a separate bug?

Thanks!

Thanks, no that's ok, I'll take another look at that. Maybe it only happens with the 64-bit build.

Second part of the bug should be fixed in SVN.
