Summary | 0002925: Duplicate Range gives unexpected results
Description | Duplicating a range in Ardour gives unexpected results. I can't explain exactly what is happening at the moment. But what I expected to happen was that all regions (and partial regions) falling in the current range would be duplicated to the region immediately following the selected range. Below is a link to a blog with screenshots comparing expected behaviour (example taken from Ableton Live) with current Ardour behaviour. http://www.basementhum.com/2009/11/ardour-book-sprint.html

Ideally (for me at least) when a range has been duplicated, the active range would move to the right, to bound the newly placed copy. This would mean that users could quickly create repeating phrases by performing the 'duplicate range' operation multiple times. |

I had written a patch for this case many moons ago. Please refer to Mantis 1601. Not sure if patch still applies cleanly. |
