| Description | when i simply play a wav in the command line: $ play file.wav there is no problem, it's sound very well, but when i add this file in a track in ardour and i play it, it's sound very quickly, at more speed than the first play. | ||||

If you were using a current version of ardour, you would have received a warning that the sample rate of the session does not match the sample rate of the audio file. If you *embed* such files in ardour, they will always work in the way you describe, because there is no special handling of the data - it is just read directly from the existing file. If you want to avoid this, you have to *import* the file into ardour, which will copy the data, produce a new file in Ardour's native format and will automatically resample it to the correct sample rate. If you want more control over the quality of the resampling, you are encouraged to use the excellent (and free) utilities that exist for this purpose. Please try this is a current version and/or let us know if the warning is not prominent enough, or does not occur for some particular series of actions. |

warnings about differences in SR have been added to all the pathways i can think of for bringing an external file into ardour. reporter has not reported on newer versions. bug considered resolved. |
