| Summary | 0002739: Normalization to less than max. | ||||
| Description | Currently it's only possible to normalize to 1 (max. sample value), however, even non-clipping samples can, to my knowledge, produce analogue signals that exceed this by several dB. This could be visualized by digital signal meters, which appear to be rare (I don't know of any for linux). Additionally ardours per-track gain is quite low, so with quiet signals one can only normalize to max., which might not be desirable, or use some amplification plugin. Normalization to arbitrary dB values below max. could help in such a case. | ||||
