Summary0002635: Ardour crash when deleting a AU plugin from the rigth click menu (2.8/ osx 10.5.6)
DescriptionArdour crash when deleting a AU plugin from the rigth click menu. If the action "cut" is used instead of the "delete", the crash doesn't occur, or at least, not always. Reproductible at least with all basis AU plugins from apple.

If AU-Plugin is inserted in the mixer strip but not opened and then deleting the plugin doesn't crash ardour. As soon as the plugin was once opened, deleting it generate the crash.

Can you check this in 2.8.1 and update? We have implemented several fixes for plugins, and specifically AU crashes. Thanks.

I just checked Ardour 2.8.1 in two Mac Pros. It doesn't crash when I remove Apple AudioUnit plugins, but still crashes when I delete Waves AU plugins. See attached ardour-2.8.1.crash file.

Yep I actually confirmed this a couple days ago and have been bugging Paul in order to get a fix. We just found one that seems to work, expect it in 2.8.2 which might be out much quicker than expected;)

Issue is with Carbon Plugins, we weren't completely destroying them, but a fix should be in SVN soon and will be in 2.8.2

I can confirm that it is now working with 2.8.2 (didn't had time to test the 2.8.1 :-) ).

I don't know about the Waves AU plugins.

OK, now it's working perfectly, I can remove the Waves plug-ins without problems. Thanks!
