Summary0002577: cleaning session : impossible !
Descriptionfirst, sorry for bad english from France...
I try to clean files from 3 sessions with "session / clean" function. I'm asked if i wish to keep or remove many playlists and around the 40th, whether i keep or remove, the window freeze and when i click on "cancel", Ardour crashes.
When i restart, there is no file written in "dead sounds".
No problem with recent and small (3 or 4 tracks) sessions. But i worked for one year on these three ones with many import/export, many regions per track and many substitutions and it means a great among of unused (and forgotten) files.
Is there another simple way of detecting unused files in the session filesystem ?
Thanks for reading...
Additional InformationI'm working on 64studio (last stable version)with 180Go hard disk and dualcore.
Jack works fine and i had no other problem with Ardour. Great job !

Is this still an issue? If so could you post up a backtrace of the problem so we can look at it? Otherwise I will resolve out this issue ina couple of weeks as unable to reproduce.

The version i work on is 2.4.
Last time i tried to "clean session", i was asked if i want to delete from playlist only one time, not 40 or 45, as before...
I'm sorry i can't understand the whole text about backtraces.
Thank you...

We could really use you trying a much more recent version of Ardour and seeing if this problem still exists for you. 2.4 is relatively aincient in Ardour's lifespan at the moment, and the amount of bugfixes between it and 2.8 is huge. Much less 2.8.1 which is being released imminently. If you could check this in 2.8.1 in a day or two and tell us if it is still happening it would be greatly appreciated.

OK, i'll try it. But i must go away from home for one week or two.
I'll try an install today but without any garantee it will work fine on this evening...
Many thanks.

I tried.
My release of 64studio seems too old so many libs are missing. I prefer not to risk a full installation with 64 3.0. This one did not worked fine on the first tests i made.
I look for another way than dpkg to install 2.8.1...
Sorry...
