| Summary | 0002541: Transport returns to start on MIDI stop from MIDI clock sync | ||||
| Description | When pressing stop on an external sequencer the transport returns to the start. This makes the current implementation not fully functional for using MIDI clock to control the transport. (Understanding MIDI clock sync may not be considered complete but I thought I should report this officially in case it is not known). | ||||

Known issue since the beginning, did not get around to it, because there is higher priority work to do. |

This isn't quite perfect yet. Ardour seems to go back to the start of the current bar, rather than retaining exact position. However, this is now useable. Please advise whether it is possible to do an exact stop, or if this is the best possible scenario. |

If Ardour goes back to the start of the current bar, it does it, because your sequencer sends a Song position event after stop. In the spec it says it should go back to its nearest MIDI beat, which is 6 MIDI Clocks. I just committed a fix that does it. Ready to test. |
