Summary0002514: [ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode
DescriptionI got this error in the ardour log:

[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = 18AutomationGainLine id = 95803
[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = 18AutomationGainLine id = 95798

[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = 17AutomationPanLine id = 95805
[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = 18AutomationGainLine id = 95803
[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = 18AutomationGainLine id = 95803

The above was the result of removing automation from two tracks
in my session. The message appeared when I closed and restarted
ardour. I was having difficulty getting the automation to
actually be removed. The automation "track" showed it was gone,
but the fader (both virtual and control surface) both get pegged
at -inf. This was the setting at the end of the track when it
was automated. I want manual control, and set the mixer and
the editor window controls for those two tracks to "manual".
The mixer window's fader automation mode for the two tracks in
question wouldn't stay in "play" mode until after the ardour
restart.

Good luck....

Wasn't this fixed in 2.8.8?

Unfortunately I can't serve with that, the session which exhibited this issue for me is long gone. Or at least I don't know which one it was.

Hi kevinc, can you confirm that this bug is fixed in Ardour 2.8.8?

This is a very similar error to what I'm getting in 3203 under A3 isn't it?

Possibly, yes. I think this one is fixed though.

I just got a similar error message in the log window just after opening a session:

[ERROR]: could not reconstitute MementoCommand from XMLNode. object type = ARDOUR::AutomationList id = 16502

Ardour 4.4 on Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, 32 bit.

It is with the same session that generated a time stretch error message that I just reported as comment 0017622 to bug ID 0005884, in case this might be related.

I could however continue normally with the session, nothing unusual.

This 'Memento' error now did not appear before with this session, and, after closing and reloading, also did not appear again.

The error message text is also a bit on the mysterious side.
