Summary0000224: Ardour does not play sound until you use panning

Additional InformationArdour Version 0.9-beta9.1, Jackd Version 0.94.0, Alsa driver/libs/etc. 1.0.1, Terratec AudioSystem EWX 24/96 (ice1712 chipset), digital output; kernel 2.4.24 with rt- and capability-patches, LinuxFromScratch 5.0, everything compiled with gcc-3.3.1, glibc 2.3.2.

Please look at bug ID 221. I have closed this bug but maybe I should have not !!!
This is a locale dependant bug so if you are not a US or English user, the patch I have posted should solve the problem.
