| Summary | 0002098: Request: More robust automation curve editing | ||||
| Description | Dear Developers, I would like to suggest a feature improvement. As far as I've seen, curve editing in Ardour can be a very arduous task if one has to change levels and positions of multiple control points. It would simplify many user's job if they were able to edit curves in a more familiar manner, by dragging to select multiple control points, then click-dragging on a point or portion of curve to move the whole selection on either the X or Y axes. Thank you very much for your excellent work Ben Powers | ||||

That would save a lot of time for me. |
Agreed. A method to copy selected automation points and paste them somewhere else (if you have to to the exact same automation over and over again) would be great, too. |
copy-and-paste actually works already, believe it or not. just select by dragging, then ctrl-c, ctrl-v. i'll leave you to figure out where it is inserted. |
Great! But region gain automation does not work this way, as the points aren't selectable (you would move the region itself). |
one thing that would be extremely cool is a way to just affect *either* the time *or* the level. often, you've got one of those exactly right and just the other needs tweaking. something like modifier+click, maybe? |

OP's feature request has been included and functional for some time. |
