Summary0001981: strange behavior of 'F4' separate function
Descriptionongoing@2726

-create new session
-import an audio file
-set the edit marker to 2sec's in the time line
-place the mouse 2 sec's later
-pres F4 - region gets separated
-move the mouse 2 sec's further in the time line
-press again F4
-now we have one region before the edit marker, and 3 regions after the edit marker
-now remove the last two regions in the time line
-drag+drop the region which is just right side of the edit marker further to the right
-the region just to the right to the edit marker is present twice time.

..........

if i do separate more than just two times (6 times), i can manage that the region which is first to the right of the edit marker will be present up to 30 times. perhaps i am not using the separate function in the right way, but anyway it looks strange to me.

this issue is related to bug0001959.

cheers,

paul, this is still a strange issue here, it behaves the same as i described.
for better understanding i ll attach 2 screenshots, the first one is done after i did separated a region 5 times. if you look carefully, you ll see that the first region right side to the marker is having another color than the others.
in the second screenshot i deleted everything else, keeping just the 'first to the right' region, than i dragged+dropped all the different layers into another tracks, for making it visible, so as you see in this case there are 16 of them.
as more times i do separate, i get more layers of that one region.

so bad - no chance to attach the files, because of the slow connection here.
i ll try to do it later ( in the night..) otherways, if you do not need the attachments (..able to reproduce..) please let me know.

nowhiskey is this still an issue for you in 2.8? I am unable to get what you describe using the seperate function(Which isn't mapped to F4 here but that is another topic;)
