Summary0001959: using the 'separate' function causes ardour to become unresponsive
Descriptionongoing@2677

-create new session
-import an audio file
-set the edit marker somewhere in the middle of the file
-now put the mouse at about 2 secs later in the timeline than the edit marker is positioned
-press F4 -separate-
-the peace between the edit marker and the mouse will be separated, but from now on, ardour is not responding to anything anymore, only killing it will help me to come out of it.

sometimes this happens first time i separate, but sometimes i have to separate twice, three or even up to 10 times for getting this issue happen.
i am not able to find out on what this is depending.

i do not get a segfault and no message in the console.

i suppose that this is not enough information to repair, but perhaps someone is able to reproduce?

cheers,
doc

I can't reproduce this with current Ardour. Is it still an issue?

If you can get it to happen, please run under GDB and when Ardour freezes, press Ctrl-Z and then obtain a backtrace.
