| Description | -create new session -get some audio in it -leftclick at the region(do not release) -press 's' key to separate -the region gets separated, but the waveform is not visible in both regions now. ........ -save session, close and open again, the waveform is visible. -try to reproduce the issue now again with the same (both) regions, it is not reproducible. ..... -import another peace of audio, -the issue is reproducible again, just for the first time, after restarting the session, it is not anymore. ..... what i mean, i can reproduce this only one time with one region.... ...hope that somebody understand?! for me this looks related to the bug 0001869 and 0001710. cheers, doc | ||||

i found out that this has nothing to do with the first-mouse-button (step 3). the waveform disappears if i just hit 's' at the region, so it is the same as i reported in 0001869 but described in kind of more precisely way. cheers, doc |

i investigated more on this. if i record some audio into ardour, this issue is not present for that region. the same if i embed audio by unchecking the 'copy files to session' inside of import audio. so the issue of disappearing of waveform is only valid if i import audio (by checking the 'copy files to session' option. cheers, doc |

Hello Dragan, -press 's' key to separate -the region gets separated, but the waveform is not visible in both regions now. cannot reproduce this with 2.1 - once a waveform is displayed, leftklick+s separates a region and the waveform is displayed properly in both snippets. Though I cannot check this for in the session imported regions since those show no waveform in the first place. Ha!Update! I use to import audio via rightklick in the regions-browser. You import Audio via rightklick in the track - do you? In this case it is indeed as you describe. After importing the graph is shown, once you drag the region to another track or if I split a region the waveform disapeares. |

here it behaves the same if i use the right-click-pop-up at the track or the session menu 'add existing audio' or simply the shortcut 'alt+i', the waveform will always be invisible after separating it or drag&droping it into another track. also if i import 'to the region list' and than dragging to a newly created track, the waveform is invisible (no need to separate/drag to another track in this case). the behavior does not change if i use 'tape tracks' or another waveform display, such as 'rectified' or 'logarithmic'. cheers, doc |
