| Summary | 0001793: Ardour destroys the session file, causes jack to xrun even when not playing | ||||
| Description | Attached to this bug is an ardour file that when loaded into ardour causes jack to xrun even when it isn't playing. When it is playing, nothing ever makes it to the master bus, even though it is setup that way. This is one of several sessions that have become destroyed while working on mastering them. I don't know what causes it, and I don't yet have a repro for the problem. Maybe someone can look at the xml and figure out what loading this .ardour file causes jack to xrun, (i'm guessing some kind of mobius strip like port connections) If jack is running in Realtime, ardour stalls it and it crashes. There is a fair amount of work in this mix with events and so forth and filters and effects. I wish this was the only time this had happened. | ||||

Ok, even with the wav files missing, this thing causes Jack Xruns (and a lot of them). The secret to stopping them is to go about deactivating plugins and inserts. Once you deactivate enough of them, the problem goes away, then you can reenable some of them, once you go past a tipping point, you have to disable a bunch more of them. Sort of like walking from one end of the seesaw to the other, once it tips down, you have to walk back a long way to get back to stable........ |

Ok, ts2-template.template is a great way to take the system down, just try to create a new session with that as the template. Jack start xrunning to beat the band |

Can you (or anyone) repeat these problems with current versions of Ardour? |

Guess you can close this one as no longer matters? I haven't worked with Ardour in more than two years now. |

OK, well thanks for responding. Sorry to hear you've not been using ardour! We would of course welcome you back :) |
