| Description | When a file is "embedded" into a project rather than converted, changing the file on the disk changes the sound in the project, which is fantastically useful, but it doesn't update the waveform displayed on the screen. This is with 1.0beta8. | ||||
| Additional Information | It would be nice to have a "rebuild peak file" option in the context menu to get round this. | ||||

I agree. Although "rebuild peak file" is technical to be throwing into the menu. Maybe it should be titled "rebuild waveform". Or maybe the peakfile could contain a timestamp to compare against the file. If it's changed, rebuild the peakfile. Or maybe a CRC of some sort. This can be done by checking the modtime of the peakfile versus the modtime of the wavfile. |

I've changed it so that if ardour is restarted, it will detect the changed soundfile and rebuild the peakfile. Will commit this soon. edited on: 12-28-03 19:36 |
