Summary0000176: trimming front of region containing entire source, displaces region
DescriptionWhen I trim the front of a region containing the entire source, the displayed waveform moves, and the region is moved as well.
It doesn't move all the way with the trim, it varies with speed of mouse movement etc.
Additional InformationI traced it to the function verify_start_mutable called in region.cc, line 543 or so. The function checks the new_start with the source length and the current region _length, instead of the new_length. Commenting out this call, removes most of the effect leaving only a small "display-jitter" probably caused by rounding to pixels. Since new_length and new_start are checked later anyway I saw no harm in commenting this call out.

thanks to vandongen, this pesky thing is fixed.

and yes, the display-jitter is a result of our arbitrary zoom scale. we do our best to reduce that, but we can't get rid of it entirely when front trimming.

If you try outthe highly regarded Samplitude app, it jiggles like *crazy*... we kick the crap out of it :)
