I reported it happened on MMC, but should add that it mostly happens while using the MIDI control of the faders in the mixer window. This did not happen in ardour 0.9x, but I cannot downgrade to it any more as I have too much material recorded in ardour 2.0.x already. At least the faders are not fighting my control any more.

This issue is still active in the 2.0.5 version of ardour. When ardour is sending MTC to the mixer and I try to control the ardour mixer via my hardware mixer with Midi, I get a whole lot of the messages, and ardour sometimes dies.

This function was fully functional in 0.9.4 - Not a good regression...

Please let me know if you need more info

I have a temporary workaround in which I disable either the MTC or the MMC. This way I can at least work, but I loose complete control over my application from my desk. Problem still here!

This is it!

The linked channels! I started using linked channels in ardour to do
groupings, because when I use groupings on the mixer, the movement would
sometimes stick - same feeling as the "Fighting controller" bug we had a
while back. When I disable the linking of channels in Ardour, and do it
on my mixer, the errors go away!!! Movement is just sticky now, but
that is another problem.

I am sure that you could now recreate the problem... I'll still see if
I can hack at the code, but what may be a week for me could be a few
minutes for you. Helps if you know the code!

The strangest thing happened. After a week away in the Tsitsikamma forest, I came back, performed my routine security and testing upgrades, and all of a sudden my Ardour set-up started working as it should! I could not believe it...

Anyway, thanks for your support. I wish I could report which package(s) fixed the MTC message problem, but I have no idea.

You are thus welcome to close the offending ticket.

i don't like closing issue reports when we have no idea what the fix was, but for now, it seems there's no option with this one.
