DescriptionThere's something wrong with the crossfade options as displayed in the menu. One has to double-set them for what's displayed to be active.

Hi, thanks for the report. Can you be a bit clearer? Can you, for example, give a list of actions which lead to something unexpected, and also say what you expected to happen?

Cheers
Carl

I open a session.

Check the Crossfades menu, and see the following:

"Active" is checked
"Show" is checked
"Created Automatically" is checked
"Span Entire Region Overlap" is checked

but when placing a region over another, no crossfade is created/visible.
What one has to do next is: uncheck all the above options and re-enable them. Only after that is done are crossfades shown and (presumably) active/used.

Thanks for that. I can't reproduce this here; I create a new session, observe the same crossfades menu settings as you, and then import an audio file twice into the same track, then drag one of the resulting regions over the other and a crossfade is created and displayed. Does this work for you?

Perhaps there's something special about your session. Do you see the same problem with any session?

You are right, this seems session specific. Sorry for the rouse :)

No problems :) If you have a small-ish session that exhibits this problem feel free to make it available somewhere online and I'll take a look.

Cheers

Reporter seems to be happy.

This is not session specific: I suffered from this on a brand new machine and install of Ardour. Using 2.1.
Same exact issue: for crossfade options to actually reflect what's checked in the menu, one has to de-check and re-check every option.

I can't reproduce this with current 2.0-ongoing. Please re-open the report if you are still having problems.

Thanks
