| Summary | 0001440: Ardour2 Beta 11.1 - KDE vs Gnome - Cleaarlooks Theme | ||||
| Description | When loading Ardour2 Beta 11.1 from KDE there appears to be a theme related problem. When opening a project using the browse feature, I see a black background with black text. This makes it difficult to browse for a project or file. The same thing happens when trying to load a plugin. I cannot read them because they are all black text on a black background. I have mentioned this in the IRC channel but I did want to formalize the bug. I'm still a noob in the linux world and this could be something I;m doing wrong but Ardour version 1 did not have the same problem. The supporting doc shows what happens when loading from KDE vs Gnome. | ||||

You need to go into the KDE control panel and enable "Apply KDE theme to non-KDE apps". In my humble opinion, KDE's behaviour is broken, but there's nothing we can do about that. |

sorry, "Apply KDE colors to non-KDE apps". |

I just ran svn update and scons. When running Ardour2 in KDE - FC5 I get this message from the terminal window: Loading ui configuration file /usr/local/etc/ardour2/ardour2_ui.rc theme_init() called from internal clearlooks engine /usr/share/themes/Clearlooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:52: error: unexpected identifier `scr ollbar_color', expected character `}' theme_init() called from internal clearlooks engine Before running svn update and scons I also received this message. I have checked files ardour2_ui.rc and gtkrc for a missing } but the matched up fine. |

"Apply KDE colors to non-KDE apps" was enabled. I had to uncheck the value for the colors to look normal. Unchecking that option seems to have corrected the issue. Agreed that this is probably a KDE problem. Ok to close out the issue. |

see notes. it would be nice to fix this inside ardour, but i don't see how to. |
