| Summary | 0001340: Fonts in Ardour come up as blocks under X11 | ||||
| Description | When Ardour 2 opens up in X11, the text in the window comes up as a Block test as seen here: http://www.phlegthon.com/Picture%201.png | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Make sure X11 is up to date via Apple Software Update. Download Ardour 2.0beta8 and run. | ||||
| Additional Information | Tried looking through font.conf files around the system and changing some of the directory links but to no avail? | ||||

I can't duplicate this on my system. What language does your system use? |
My OS X is using United States english as the default language. Have you updated X11 via the Software Update? I have a few times as Apple has been issuing bug fixes and security updates for it. I just tried running Ardour 0.99 with my setup and the fonts come up fine. So this definitely has something to do with the latest build of Ardour and X11. |
X11 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0 is what i'm running. |
Hi, Have you tried the new ardour2 on your system? Does it exhibit the same problem? Thanks Carl |
Yes I just tried the latest 2.0 build and i still have the same issues |
Yes, I'm running the latest apple X11.app and have never seen this. Have you defined any environmental variables that might be affecting fonts/languages? |
No I haven't changed anything like that. What would i be looking for? |
It happens when running Ardour from a path containing spaces. |
please define "from a path containing spaces" .... |
e.g. /Users/Auria/Desktop/My Software/Ardour/Ardour.app renaming folder "My Software" to "MySoftware" fixes the problem. |
we have a fix for this that will appear in 2.0.1, to be released this week. it will be available in SVN very soon, but i am aware that most of our OS X users do not compile from source. |
fixed in svn and 2.0.1, now released |
