i'm pretty sure that's not the case. there are 80 bits per SMPTE frame in all the reference materials i've seen. |

Yes, 80 bits in an LTC frame, but I've always thought there are 100 subframes in a frame. This taken from sync&surround_concepts_29744.pdf page 3. by Digidesign "Time code describes locations in terms of hours, minutes, seconds, frames, and subframes (1/100th of a frame)." Maybe both 80 and 100 are correct ! I need to dig deeper I think. |

the 80 bit definition is amazingly weak. just as i've come to expect from anything related to the video world :) nick: looks like we should aim for 100 subframes per frame. otoh, the exact meaning of this in the real world seems to be ill-defined. |
