This may have been the symptom of a bug which has occured for me recently: when creating a session with dozens of "tape" tracks, The naming of the files will get "off" like this: T0036-Audio 36.wav T0037-Audio 36.wav T0038-Audio 37.wav T0039-Audio 37.wav T0040-Audio 36.wav etc.... basically the "audio" poart does not increment. In each case, the waveform does not draw for the track where the 'jump' occurred. The session "source" names match the wave files as shown above. I have not yet determined whether Ardour records to the correct tracks. |

whats the workflow to get these "semi-duplicated" names? |

after reviewing the initial bug report, I realize they are not related. The initial bug report deals with "normal" tracks and the new problem only affects "tape" tracks. However the steps to recreate are basically the same: Create a new session with no master, auto-connect inputs and outputs to physicals Create 48 or so tape tracks rec-enable all tracks with shift-ctrl-click record a few seconds It may be important to use the "dummy" driver or some other JACK driver which has many physical inputs. occasionally, one or more tracks will not be assigned a "tape region", will not draw a recording "rectangle", and will not draw waveforms after the recording is finished. Inspecting the audiofiles folder or the session will reveal the strangely named sources. I will send a "broken" session to Paul when possible. |
