| Summary | 0001183: firewire audio interface suppport? | ||||
| Description | I am using m-audios projectmix I/O audio interface/control surface. Will ardour never support control surfaces or firewire audio interfaces? If it will, does anyone know when. This program looks so sweet and I cant wait to get my hands on it!! | ||||

it will support them whenever the firewire audio drivers (e.g. the freebob project) allow JACK to talk to the h/w. Ardour itself has nothing do with audio interface h/w. ardour already supports control via MIDI-based control surfaces, but only using generic MIDI (e.g. MIDI CC messages), rather than proprietary protocols like MackieControl. we hope to add support for MackieControl and other obtainable protocols sometime this year. |

As noted above, firewire audio drivers are nothing to do with ardour. Control surface support is underway on various fronts! |
