Summary0001162: ardour misses the very first buffer(s?) when recording the output of some JackTransport aware applications
DescriptionAs discussed on #ardour today :

Use Hydrogen, fill a pattern with kick sounds, the first one being on the first beat. Enslave Hydrogen to JackTransport ("Jack Trans." button). Create a track on ardour an set its input to Hydrogen's kick out(s). Record enable the track, engage Record and the Play. Stop a few seconds later.

The recorded track is missing some audio data at the very beginning : the first kick sound is cut.

Trying to move the recorded region to the right and play from zero doesn't help. Neither do changing the "alignment" setting for the track.

When increasing ardour's "latency" setting ("JACK" menu) and recording again, the region seems to be further more shifted (cut).

Thanks.

Yes, this looks related to 0001137, but the wording of it is misleading : "Ardour refuses to record anything when starting from point zero". Here, ardour doesn't refuse anything, it apparently skips one or more buffers of data before actually beginning to record.

It may be the same bug though.
