| Summary | 0001122: Zipper noise at automation points with certain plugins | ||||
| Description | As discussed on IRC, when doing automation for many a plugins, for example low-pass plugins such as 4 pole low-pass filter, glame butterworth lowpass, triple band parametric, zipper noises/click/pops can be hard AT the automation curve points. Or slightly after or the next point after a point. las says "probably curve generation and/or use during automation playback". Here's an example file of how it can sound like: http://findus.dhs.org/~odd/4pole_automation.ogg (272kb) and this is what the automation curves looks like: http://findus.dhs.org/~odd/4pole_automation.png Here is the automation data points for shown automation: 0 0 22050 0 9.8711e+06 22050 0 1.1401e+07 21976.7 0 1.16687e+07 20438.4 0 1.18881e+07 733.444 0 1.19978e+07 1758.98 0 1.20637e+07 4542.59 0 1.21251e+07 2198.51 0 1.2169e+07 5128.61 0 1.22611e+07 7985.46 0 1.2779e+07 220.677 0 1.79309e+07 220.677 0 2.02655e+07 21537.2 | ||||

I have found that this bug happens even when the Automation State is set to "Off". So, in more detail; when you have automation on a plugin that causes clicks at the automation points, when you set the automation state to "off", the clicks will still happen, even though the parameters on the plugin are not being changed. I discovered this while using a GLAME Butterworth Low pass filter. I also found that the Fractionally Addressed Delay Line plugin is also another plugin affected by the bug. |
