| Summary | 0010360: Piano Roll - Setting to increase vertical zoom in | ||||
| Description | Piano Rolls Suggesting to allow for more of a vertical zoom in then currently available. This would make it so that -Note Name Text would increase in size -Vertical Keyboard graphic piano key heights would be increased -MIDI note boxes / drum diamonds would have increased heights Because not all user may prefer a zoomed in state that is more then what is currently available. I am suggesting that this be added as a setting where user can choose how much vertical zoom in is provided. (Keep in mind I am unaware of how closely piano rolls coding are with each other) This could be offered as 1 setting, but There are 3 different Piano Roll Views available. Each offer different amount of view space available and each might be used for different purposes by users. So offering a different maximum vertical zoomed in state for each PR might be helpful -MIDI Track Piano Roll: Drop Down Menu -Bottom Dock Piano Roll: Drop Down Menu -Piano Roll Window: Drop Down Menu Drop Menu would consist of -Off/Use default value (guess would be considered 100%?) -List of maximum vertical zoomed in percentages that this could be increased to. I think the maximum height would probably be 2 times the current height of MIDI notes, maybe 3 times to the height at most? Up to developers to decide, if anyone decides to make this update. Can close if no one feels this would be beneficial Thank You | ||||
| Additional Information | SOME POSSIBLE BENEFITS -Obviously allows note name text/note heights to be increased to be seen more clearly -If users have a really small screen or a really large screen both could benefit from this -Now that Ardour provides a Piano Roll Window, an increased vertical zoom can be useful because now there is more vertical space available. -If user is using any of the Piano Rolls for something like drums, not as many MIDI keys are needed vertically. Being able to be zoomed more vertical can be very useful in this use case. This could also help if user is using the "Drum Diamond Shapes" to represent MIDI notes. | ||||
