Summary0010281: selecting a midi track in edit view with a heavy plugin on is laggy
DescriptionWhen I create a midi track, and add the Surge XT plugin to it. When i try to select it, it takes a few seconds for the selection to take effect. I'm guessing this is because the plugin has some kind of overhead. It makes it very difficult to get into a fluid workflow with any midi tracks that uses a "heavy" plugin.
Steps To Reproduce* Create a new empty project
* Add a midi track with the Surge XT or other heavy plugin.
* Selecting the track in the Edit view now takes a long time compared to other kinds of tracks.

Since the delay likely differs from system to system, you can exacerbate the issue by simply stacking a ton of plugins on a single track (which is what I've done in the attached video). I've tried it with ACE Fluid Synth as well, and while I can use more instances of the plugin before selection lags, it also does cause lag.

Why your track have 9 instances of Surge XT? How it works and what kind of behavior it's supposed to have?

I only use one instance! As written in the description, more instances makes the issue of track selection being laggy more noticeable which might be needed if you have a faster system than I do.

I noticed that the issue is the bottom panel which has plugin controls. It apparently takes a while to populate. Hiding the bottom panel makes the lag go away.
