| Summary | 0010124: Demo time limit nag screen pops up on top of other applications | ||||
| Description | I know this is probably not a concern to you guys, but hopefully this will be considered to be updated as soon as possible. ISSUE I understand that the time limit nag screen is needed, but it is killing me :) In trying to help out in any way that I can with the version 9 release, I find myself doing a lot of testing and typing posts as I come across things. Demos as well as the nightly demos for testing, all come with time limit nag screens. The issue I am hoping to have updated has to do with its behavior. If I for example have Ardour open in the background, and then I open up any other applications on top of it, say a text editor, when this popup opens, it opens on top of my text editor where my cursor is. Cannot tell you how many issues/inconveniences this has caused me so far. I see that this warning dialog already seems to be embedded, it does not open up a new window instance in my Panel (Linux). Somehow though it is setting itself to be on top of all application windows. Probably should not interfere with other application windows. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOLUTION REQUESTS -If possible, would it be considered to just have this time limit warning dialog appear only on top of Ardour window itself? and not on top of all application windows. -In the past I made a post about Ardour default behavior of opening floating windows based on mouse cursor location, which to me is unexpected behavior. If this time limit warning dialog does get updated, I was also wondering if it would be possible to make it appear in the center of Ardour window, and not where the cursor is located. (Similar to how the deleting of tracks warning dialog is designed to appear in center of screen). Again, this is not just for me, but in general, an applications warning dialogs probably should not be designed to interfere with other applications when they are the currently focused application window.
