Summary | 0009978: Parameter Edit Mode - Allow Escape key to cancel
Description | In any Ardour based horizontal parameter faders user can double click on them to edit their values. However there does not appear to be a way to cancel this action with a keyboard key. Suggesting to allow ESCAPE key to cancel this edit mode action if user decides not to change the value. Value would then return to its previous value before the edit occurred. ESCAPE key is the standard cancel key but if for some reason it cannot be used in Ardour, maybe something like CTRL+ENTER? In the past I made a very long post about limiting most hotkeys per window / dialog so that they are not doing things in Editor, Mixer, etc. in the background (I will probably make a Mantis post about this in the future). Turns out that even this parameter edit mode field unfortunately has this same issue. The ENTER key is allowed to work in the edit mode to confirm / end edit mode, however the ESCAPE key does stuff in the background. For example, have the Edit pane in background with the new 9.0 bottom dock visible behind plugin window. Double click to edit parameter in plugin window and then hit ESCAPE. You will notice the bottom dock closes in the background. Thank You
