| Summary | 0009891: In Archlinux, with Ardour version 8.11, I am unable to switch input methods and can only input in English. | ||||
| Description | In Archlinux, with Ardour version 8.11, I am unable to switch input methods and can only input in English. To input Chinese, I have to type in a text editor and then copy and paste it into Ardour 8.11. In versions prior to Ardour 7, switching input methods and typing in Chinese worked normally. I hope this issue can be resolved. Thank you. | ||||

This also happens on Ardour 9.5 with Japanese input using fcitx + mozc. Surprisingly, it is also reproducible on Ardour 6.9 on my end, so perhaps it has something to do with environment or packages. cheng1996, can you provide info on the input method you are using (fcitx, ibus, etc..) ? |

I use Arch Linux with KDE Wayland, and my input methods are Fcitx5 Pinyin and Fcitx Mozc. I could switch to Chinese input in Ardour 7 and earlier versions, but only English input has been available ever since. As this issue remains unresolved, I switched to Reaper on Arch Linux. Reaper also has Chinese input issues on Linux, though some users have fixed it by modifying source code. |

Thank you for the additional info. I'll investigate further and post whatever I can find in an update. |
