Summary | 0009866: Ardour crashes after removing a sound font (Shrine Piano) from Carla Rack and then removing Carla Rack from the MIDI track
Description | Shrine Piano SFZ seems to have disappeared from internet (can that happen?) Here's a copy of it still when the person who sampled it still distributed it freely: https://akik.kapsi.fi/sfz/Shrine_Piano_v1.3.zip

Works here (tested with Carla Rack VST2 on Linux). Can you get a backtrace of the crash (https://ardour.org/debugging_ardour)? Does the sfz work fine in other sample players? |
Here's how Carla Rack LV2 (I only see the LV2 version in plugin manager) works for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBekAtK3IvI Because of this problem I changed from Carla Rack LV2 to LinuxSampler, in which I think the sound quality is better. |
I'll get the backtrace and upload it here |
I'm confused. Should I use the nightly build on Linux to get the gdb backtrace? The Linux section of the guide at https://ardour.org/debugging_ardour doesn't mention the nightly build. When I download the nightly build, I get version 9.x but I'm normally using 8.10. |
There should be a warning that installing the nightly build removes the non-nightly build |
> There should be a warning that installing the nightly build removes the non-nightly build This is not true. Unless you use the exact same version major.minor.micro you can have builds installed in parallel. On Window and Linux you Just say "no" when the installer asks if to uninstall other versions. On macOS, Apple's Finder asks when you drag Ardour.app to /Applications (but you could also run the nightly directly from the dmg) |
Can you provide me with a download link to Ardour nightly/debug v8.10 (x86_64) ? |
