Summary | 0009692: Naming output channels (Export dialog)
Description | When I have to export mono splits, I would like to be able to tell the respective name of each output channel to Ardour, instead of tediously renaming them afterwards each time I have to re-export. Those names should be stored in the .ardour file, so that I don't have to re-enter them every time the program is closed, otherwise the feature would be pointless. Of course, the number of names the user has to enter shall match the number of output channels (that the user provides in the top-left spinbox). And from a filesystem perspective, a check is necessary to ensure each channel name is unique. I have attached a mock-up of what that could look like in my mind, but you are of course free to design this another way ;-) If you are going with my suggestion, it might be wise to also add a vertical scrollbar (which I did not draw) in case someone needs to output a lot of channels for some obscure reason. Note that the suggested default names make the feature retro-compatible with the current naming scheme, which is probably a good thing...
