| Description | I get a hard crash (application vanishes from the display) whenever I try to remove the monitor section from a session. Running Ardour from the terminal shows a segmentation fault. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | I simply go to the session menu->Monitor Section->Use Monitor Section and de-select it. | ||||

It works fine here with Ardour 8.6.0 on Linux (w/ALSA backend). If you can still reproduce this with recent Arodur 8.6, please provide a backtrace (see https://ardour.org/debugging_ardour). Thanks |

x42, when you wrote "It works fine here..." did you try and open the session archive that I provided and then deactivate the monitor section? I"m asking because I don't have 8.6.0 installed on this machine. If you can re-produce it from the file that I provided then I won't have to find a way to install 8.6. Separately, can I install multiple versions of Ardour on the same machine? Thank you for your help. |

Yes, I used your session archive. Official binaries from ardour.org can be installed in parallel to distro versions and you can also install different versions of them. You can also try with https://nightly.ardour.org/ (demo is fine to test). |

OK, I've downloaded and run the 8.6 debug version. I am able to add and remove the monitor section with no problems. So, I don't see the bug in the 8.6 code. Thank you for your help and patience. I really do appreciate it. Please close the bug report. |

It was fixed sometime between Ardour 7.5 and 8.6 |
