Summary | 0009515: Dropdown menus have a too short "hold time", i.e. often close immediately upon clicking
Description | Clicking a dropdown menu often causes it to close almost immediately, unless it is tapped extremely quickly. This is unfortunately a bit of a usability issue since it makes especially large dropdown menus hard to navigate. While it seems to be an established convention that clicking and holding on a dropdown menu causes it to close upon release, this "hold time" should be longer. In other words, performing a "normal click" should keep the menu open after releasing the mouse button, like native dropdown menus in other apps.
Steps To Reproduce | - Click any dropdown menu (and keep the mouse button pressed for a very short amount of time)
Additional Information | I'm testing this on a 2021 MacBook Pro (with 120 Hz display) on macOS 14.0 (arm64). See the attached screen recording for a short video demo.
