Summary	0009373: Add possibility to collapse / expand a group (aka "folder track")
Description	Please make a feature in Ardour to enable collapse/expand a tracks group - something like a "folder track" known from other DAWs. If you have a plugin (eg. virtual drums) that fans out into 16 or more separate tracks, this would be desired to collapse all these tracks and keep edit area organized and clear. Thanks!

x42 2023-06-12 21:05 administrator ~0027745	You have just created year's work of work in just one sentence :) Folder tracks are not just a visual show/hide, but involve signal flow upwards to the parent track. In Arodur's case the parent-track will likely need to become a downstream bus. Implementing this been on our ToDo list since around 10 years (post 3.5).

befloibent 2026-06-27 02:56 reporter ~0030562	In that case, how about something that ISN'T a Cubase/ProTools style "folder track" but that IS just a visual hide/show Group collapse? You could call it something flashy like, "Collapsible Groups" ;P
