Summary | 0009369: Rec Editor: Rename Audio/MIDI Inputs and Outputs
Description | Please make the rename of Inputs permanent (in Ardour configuration), not only for the current session. And add ability to rename outputs as well.

Custom Input Port names are session-independent. They were never saved with the session. Assuming you are on GNU/Linux, can you check `$HOME/.config/ardour7/port_metadata` for Ardour internal audio-systems. If you are using JACK, then jackd is responsible for keeping port-meta-data. By default jack's meta-data database is volatile. you can use `jack_property` to modify the port-names. |
|
I don't want to rename inputs for whole system, just as an alias for Ardour.... |
|
If you use JACK, then jackd provides ports (and port-meta-data), and Ardour has no control over this. |
