So the first problem I notice starting to dig into this is that the session does not load correctly in 6.9 either, if "correctly" means that the MIDI and audio ought to be in sync with each other. There are also display issues with both 6.9 and 8.1 regarding the length of the notes, |

Well that's ... interesting. The audio is a recording of the MIDI, so yes, in sync. Here is a screenshot of the session in Ardour 6.9, and an export of it. I imagine it's unlikely that this could be a result of using the Arch binary rather than an official download. session.mp3 (366,760 bytes) |

I've managed to track down the root cause of this. It's not solved yet, but it should not take too long once I figure out the way. |
