Just as a side note: this won't do what you want. The region in the timeline is independent of the one in the clip launcher slot. |

Fair enough, I can deal with reloading the region after modifications. I can see how that could be difficult to handle a shared region between clip and timeline. That could be a nice feature though. |

Actually, it's not hard, and a few months ago, that was how things worked. The potential for user confusion, however, was too great, so we changed things. |

I'm experiencing the same issue. Trying to edit midi regions, that are already loaded as clips, crashes ardour consistently. This happens e.g. when you try to add a new note, or lengthen an existing note. My version of Ardour is: Ardour8.6.0 (built using 8.6 and GCC version 13.2.1 20230801) And my distro is Arch Linux. As a side note, I would find it very convenient if "realtime" editing of clips would be possible, and I was under the impression that it worked that way. When you import a region as a clip, it doesn't get another name, so I assumed that it still referred to the same region. |
